"Two Rose Sisters"

Photographer  ‑  Anne Carroll
Two of the Rose sisters walk together down the colonnade beside the Doge's Palace. There are three sisters, Mona, Inis and Annette, and they collaborate in costume design every year.
Mona attends the Carnivale every year. She and her two sisters make the most exquisite costumes, matching but different, always unique but a celebration of complementary design. You can find all three sisters in costume here on the website. Inis and Annette live in Germany but Mona lives in Antigua Guatemala, in view of the active Volcan de Acatenango. How the three sisters manage to co-ordinate the construction of their delightful and matching costumes is anyone's guess.
