"Venice - Being There"

Frank and Anne Carroll present images of the city and Carnivale. Venice is a feast of architecture, art and history confronted by the burden of five million annual pedestrian tourists. This jostling commercialism in tourist hot-spots encouraged the photographers to seek out the less frequented and quieter locations and the night-time silences of the empty canals. The cosplay of Carnivale costumiers created a further photographic journey of intrigue and spectacle. This photographic exhibition, “Venice - Being There,” alludes to the dichotomies that exist between past and present, illusion and reality, and theatre and daily life.
